ZOUNDS

A N A R T I S T C O L L E C T I V E

Where we started

ZOUNDS began in Summer of 2022 among a community of performers working a summer contract together. We wanted a space to create and explore with no strings attached, and that is how ZOUNDS came about.

Weeks of our actors and directors rehearsing & exploring culminated in a beautiful (sold out) public performance that was incredibly fulfilling & inspiring. This was only the beginning.

It's a pleasure to meet you

Zounds was created out of a recognition that this art form is on the cusp of change. Historically, the theatre has not and still is not a safe or inclusive space for many.

Most artists in this day and age are plagued with burnout, putting our mental health behind all else in order to make art. When artists are given the space to advocate for their needs and take care of themselves, the artistic results are exceedingly more meaningful, not just for audiences, but the creators as well.
